La Foxy Fuzz |House Plant Music TV Vol 20

La Foxy Fuzz is a vinyl-only selector known for weaving the rare, the B-side, and the unexpected into dancefloors across Sydney. Born in Bogotá and raised on the colours of Latin soul, funk, disco, salsa, boogaloo, and global rhythms, her sets move like a living archive—tracing memories, migration, community, and the deep joy that music creates when people feel it together. As a cultural curator and advocate for Latin music’s deep cuts, Foxy leads Her Spin on Things and the Femme Forward collective, uplifting women selectors and carrying global rhythms into spaces where they can be shared and truly felt. This mix for House Plant at Jam Record Bar is a reflection of that philosophy. It’s a journey through the Americas—starting with the soulful salsa-rock of Black Sugar’s “Too Late,” sliding into the Nuyorican flavour of Joe Bataan, the Colombian magic of Elia y Elizabeth and Columna de Fuego, the Peruvian chicha guitar lines of Los Destellos, the Ecuadorian nostalgia of Olmedo Torres, and even a rare Guantanamera recorded in Paraguay. From there, the energy climbs again through bugalú and mambo classics, before landing in a house-kissed salsa tribute with Héctor Lavoe’s “Mi Gente” (Luvega remix). Each record marks a different rhythm, a different country, a different pulse...a reminder that Latin music is a continent of sounds, not a single genre. This was Foxy’s first appearance at Jam, and she approached it as a moment of honour: an opportunity to share the full spectrum of her collection, the pieces she has carried and collected through years of digging. Seeing an Australian crowd groove to these rhythms—some familiar, many completely new—was a reminder of why she does this work. It’s about opening cultural doors, creating connection, and letting good music be contagious. This set came from el corazón: a love letter to the Americas, and to the community that forms when the needle drops.
