Her Spin on Things was born from the need for a safe and welcoming space where women and women-identified people can share music freely. In an industry that often lacks inclusivity, this project aims to carve out room for voices, stories, and sounds that deserve to be heard.
It also comes from something personal, my own need to find and nurture a community. A space where women can connect, empower each other, and grow together through music.
This is also a space where we celebrate cultures and enjoy discovering new sounds that everyone brings to the table. At its core, Her Spin on Things is about multiculturalism — creating a space that celebrates our differences. In Australia, where diversity among women in the music industry is still underrepresented, we want to shine a light on the beauty and strength of those voices.
At its heart, this is about empowerment: creating a platform where women can experiment, learn, and shine, while inspiring the next wave of DJs, collectors, and music lovers.

This collective is focused on vinyl and exists to give women and women-identified music lovers the chance to share their sound publicly, to grow as selectors, and to take up space in the music scene.
We’re a multicultural group of femmes, each with our own unique sound, connected through our love for records and community. Together, we’re ready to show Sydney our grooves, our stories, and our lovely vinyls
The only requirement to be part of Femme Forward is to be part of the Her Spin On Things community, because that’s where it all begins.
